Winter Newsletter

Wow! What a whirlwind the last few months of our work has been. A couple of months ago we had someone tell us they saw us as a rocket ship on a launch pad about to take off. They were so right; we have had to adjust all of our year long goals because we have met them all in a couple of weeks. Here is just a brief breakdown of 2020 at SYC; We have mentored 150 students from 10 different school campuses. We have 4 active collaborations with other non-profits, we have school districts and charter schools recruiting for our mentoring programs, and we have grown our staff from 4 to 6.

At the beginning of February, we are opening our second location in South Sacramento. This will help us mentor even more students connecting them with quality mentors that can build relationships and eventually share their faith.

In the next several weeks we are also working towards opening a coffee shop at our North Sac location. This will serve a dual purpose; helping raise funds for the non-profit and more importantly it will serve as a location we can use for job training, workforce development and even hire some of our best students.

Amazing things are happening with Sacramento Youth Center. Recently a student told us that her life has completely turned around since being in our mentoring program. We are excited to continue to grow our impact in the Sacramento area giving our mentors even more opportunities to reach youth. Thank you for all the support.
