Spring Newsletter

Things have not slowed down in the winter months for our work at the Sacramento Youth Center. Over the last few months, we have been mentoring over 50 Muslim refugee students.

We are still breaking ground on building relationships with these students since all of them are brand new. However, we want to share and amazing moment that had the other day.

We had a former youth pastor who was also a refugee from the late 80s early 90s from Ukraine. It was amazing to hear him share his story, and how he overcame coming to the U.S. as a non-English speaking teen.

He was able to share how he didn’t let his circumstance dictate his outcomes. He could relate to the students on such a real level, including the feelings of watching their home country descend into chaos in recent months.

We are using opportunities like this to speak life into these students’ life. The recent unrest in the world gives us ample opportunity to share how maintain health and hope, even when everything around us seems dismal

As always, thank you so much for being on the team and helping us help the under-served right here in Sacramento.
